Advent: The Second Coming of Christ

From the first Sunday after Thanksgiving to Christmas, the Season of Advent is celebrated in Western Churches varying from Anglican, Roman Catholic, Protestant, etc. The theme of readings and teachings during Advent is often to prepare for the Second Coming while commemorating the First Coming of Christ at Christmas. With the view of directing the thoughts of Christians to the first coming of Jesus Christ as savior and to his second coming as judge, special readings are prescribed for each of the four Sundays in Advent. Many children open daily a window/door on handheld advent calendars. They’re great ways to explain Christ to kids, especially in our modern day where gifts and Santa rule the airwaves.

I pray that as this season goes, you will take it with Cheer and glad heart and celebrate it as rallying for the Second Coming. Watch the video below and enjoy the beauty of the Advent!
