TT: Cities of Lights! Twinkle Twinkle Little Billion Fake Stars!

Places that the whole city or are places that you and yours can look at Christmas Lights here in Texas!

  (I’m pretty sure these places look better than this front yard…)

 

Cleburne, TX.  The Whistle Stop Lights wow visitors on an annual basis. The main draw for this county-wide event is the 11 acres of Christmas lights covering Hulen Park. However, Whistle Stop Christmas also offers train rides, fire truck rides and hayrides, as well as dancers, bands, sing-a-longs and nativity scenes at three different locations throughout Johnson County.

Texas Hill Country – Boerne, Burnet, Dripping Springs, Fredericksburg, Goldwaite, Johnson City, Llano, Marble Falls, New Braunfels, Round Mountain and Wimberley are all part of the Hill Country Regional Lights Trail.

College Station, TX.  Santa’s Wonderland features 2.5 million lights spread across 40 acres. Drive thru style

Texarkana, TX. Twice as Bright Festival of Lights offers horse & carriage rides & live reindeer to go with their lights.

Jefferson, TX. Holiday Trail of Lights features an enchanted forest, life-size gingerbread house, candlelight tour of homes and more – not to mention plenty of lights.

Round Rock Tx. 1805 Rusty Nail Loop in Round Rock Tx 78681. 22,000 lights that dance to 88.5 FM. Do IT.

Austin, TX. 37th St. They advise you to park and walk. It’s ridiculously packed. Location: From I-35, exit at 38th Street and go west. Once you reach Speedway Street, you may want to start looking for a parking space. Cedar Street is the first left after Speedway and you may be able to find parking near there.

Grand Prairie, TX. 4 Million lights along 2 miles of roadway. There are over 600 displays that line and arch over the walkway path creating Texas’ largest light tunnel. There is a Holiday Magic Light Show Theater which is a 10 minute light show that is choreographed to music.

Providence Village, TX. 70,000 lights. 60 strobe lights, several virtual snow machines, a virtual Santa, red and green flood backdrops, a 22 foot animated tree of lights, a couple of rotating LED color changing effects encompassing their house and three neighboring houses.

Corinth, Texas. Wonderland Christmas runs from November 25, 2011 until December 30, 2011. They advise that you check their twitter feed before coming to the park since weather conditions will always be a factor.

Marshall, Texas. Wonderland of Lights. This event is centered around their historic courthouse and takes place from Thanksgiving through Christmas. This display contains approximately 10 million lights. Activities include outdoor skating (not an common thing in Texas) , surrey rides, candlelight tours of historic homes, and a lighted Christmas parade. Tour buses run hourly to take guests to see the twinkling lights that adorn the trees, local businesses and residences.

Santa Land TX. A drive through Christmas theme park located midway between Dallas, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana on I-20 near Tyler, Texas. They have over 2.5 million lights over 24 acres. There is 250 foot tunnel of dancing lights & numerous displays.

 

Wherever you call home, go out and get lit! 🙂 Look at some trees and pretty pretty lights.
