Thoughts on Faith

I have great empathy for those who lost someone at Newtown, Connecticut. What great loss is being mourned there, but God is still good & he is still faithful. I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day – Casting Crowns

Veteran’s Day

John 15:11-13 NIV84

I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Thank you to all my friends, we salute you.

Happy Father’s Day

Proverbs 17:6 NIV84

Children’s children are a crown to the aged,

and parents are the pride of their children.

May my father know how much I love him because he is the pride of me & my sister with his dedication & strength & honor.
Happy father’s day y’all.

My 5 Minute Bread Experiment

So there’s this recipe…

Called Artisan bread in 5 minutes a day, in a cookbook by the name name by two people, Jeff Hertzberg & Zoë François (got to be legit artisanal bread with a French woman as a co-author!). I finally stumbled upon it in my local library’s displace of the month: cooking. I said heck you say! Easy & tasty fancy looking bread? Let me at it! So I tried it out, as you can tell in the following photos.  Basic Boule Recipe

Step one plus flour:

Step two Lightly lidded:

Step three pulled out into my permanent fridge storage container with WET hands:

Step four my ACTUAL loaf of deliciously cooked French Boule:

You think you want to try it yourself? Do it! It’s so easy you can hardly screw up the basic master recipe! It alone can be free shaped into a dozen breads! Freezes well & you can do a partial bake to take other places! I seriously suggest in investing in their book(s)!!

Have you ever baked bread before? Success? Failure? Difficulty?

Memorial Thursday: Paying Respect

Some travelling Thursdays aren’t of me going far away or doing expensive things, mainly because I don’t have the funds or much time for the great big world around me. But thankfully I can still do the little trips. The local things. The community things.
Something I did tonight.

I visited the American Legion Post #71 for their first Field of Heroes opening ceremony. This honor ceremony celebrated POW, MIA, KIA, & Veterans. There was an Army Colorguard to present the flags & God Almighty had a strong wind whipping the 125+ flags in a fervor.
To participate, you donated $20 for an American flag to be flown this weekend in honor of a current, past, or personal hero. Name, branch, etc. I dedicated it to my cousin Row who served Air Force until recent retirement. At the end of Tuesday you are able to pick up the flag & take home to fly.

Here’s a few shots:
